IVORY

This project introduces a physical interface to sense the state of the air. Inspired by the miner’s canary, which was used to detect hazardous atmospheres in shafts, we designed and implemented a shape-changing interface enriched with sound to express particulate matter levels (PM 2.5). Ivory was presented in various exhibitions, such as "Clear River, Calm Sea" at St. Katharinen in Hamburg and "Feathers – warmth, seduction, flight" at the Gewerbemuseum Winterthur in Switzerland.
